Now Available Online- VOLUME 1: FISHES
The Magnetic Island Coral Reef Field Guide is a digital collection of information on the reef organisms from the Island. The first volume (Fishes) contains information on approximately 140 species of fishes from 33 families. Eventually the guide will encompass fishes, corals, invertebrates, and algae.
Each species page contains large digital images to help with identification, and where possible we have included pictures of the juvenile stage and other colour phases found in that species. We also provide information on the ecological characteristics of the taxa, where it is located on the island, and a list of scientific references for further reading.
