WEATHER & UNDERWATER VISIBILITY

Fantastic snorkelling conditions continue!! See weather links below for the latest forecast. Best times for snorkelling will be around low tides.

During windy conditions, Florence Bay and Alma Bay will have small waves for surfing (best around the low tides), and Nelly Bay is the best spot for kiteboarding and windsurfing. Radical and Balding Bay will be calm and suitable for swimming.

Information about kiteboarding on Magnetic Island can be found here.

Although we are coming into the cooler winter months, stinging jellyfish such as Irukandji and Blue-bottles (Physalia) may be present around Magnetic Island. We suggest that snorkellers and swimmers cover up as much of their body as possible, even when swimming in the stinger nets (All Reef Ecotours clients are covered ankle to wrist with a lycra suit or wetsuit).

While you're on Magnetic Island, why not use the opportunity to visit the Aquasearch Aquarium in Nelly Bay and see Giant Clams and hundreds of juvenile clownfish just like NEMO! (click here for MAP).
